About Semax

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide, Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, an analogue of the ACTH(4-10) fragment with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail added to resist degradation. It was developed in Russia.

Research background

Research on Semax, mostly from Russian laboratories, examines neurotrophic-factor expression and neuronal-stress responses in cell and animal models. It has been used as a medicine in Russia but is not approved by the FDA.
